Medical and Travel insurance

We have a policy that ALL students must take out full medical, baggage and fees insurance before we will accept their enrolment. This is to protect students and their families should something untoward happen. (See Section 21 – the Code of Practice)

[As of 1 January 2004 it has been compulsory for all fee-paying students to take out medical insurance for the time they stay in New Zealand. This is because most students are not entitled to publicly funded health services while in New Zealand unless they are: a resident or citizen of Australia, or a national of the United Kingdom in New Zealand, or a holder of a temporary permit that is valid for more than two years. If you do not belong to one of these special categories and you receive medical treatment during your visit, you will be liable for the full cost of that treatment. Medical insurance can be arranged in the student,s home country before they leave or upon arrival in New Zealand.]
